About Flavia
Hi, I’m Flavia! I’m currently studying Chemistry at Durham University. I’m proud to have achieved 3 A grades at A-Level and all grade 9s at GCSE. I have a strong passion for helping others succeed, especially in Maths and Science. I have experience tutoring primary school children, as well as GCSE and A-Level students, and I know how to explain challenging concepts in a clear and relatable way. As a university student, I understand the pressures students face and am patient, approachable, and dedicated to helping my students build confidence and reach their full potential. My approach to tutoring is centred on building a deep understanding of the subject, rather than relying on memorisation. I tailor each lesson to the individual needs and learning style of the student, recognising that every learner is different. I take the time to understand how you (or your child) learn best — whether that’s through step-by-step explanations, visual aids, active practice, or real-life examples — ensuring not only that you keep up with the syllabus but truly grasp the concepts behind it. Whether simplifying tricky topics, working through exam-style questions, or reinforcing classroom learning, I aim to make lessons clear, structured, and engaging. As a university student who has recently completed GCSEs and A-Levels, I understand the pressures students face and know how to explain things in a relatable and effective way. I create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, learning from mistakes, and developing both subject knowledge and self-confidence. My ultimate goal is to help students become independent learners who feel motivated and well-prepared — both in school and beyond. I’m not here just to cover the syllabus — I want to help students understand the “why” behind what they’re learning. Whether it’s preparing for exams, catching up on missed content, or building confidence, I ensure every lesson is clear, encouraging, and effective. My aim is for every student to leave sessions feeling more confident, capable, and proud of their progress.
