About Thalia
My passion for chemistry began with curiosity about how molecules interact and reactions drive change in both nature and technology. This curiosity led me to pursue a B.Sc in Chemistry and an M.Sc in Physical Chemistry, providing me with both theoretical insight and laboratory expertise. Over 11 years of teaching, I have guided students to develop conceptual understanding, analytical reasoning, and confidence in applying chemistry in both practical and academic contexts.
I focus on student-centered, engaging, and interactive lessons. Many learners initially struggle with multi-step calculations, abstract principles, or experimental interpretation, so I break material into approachable sections, use relatable examples, and encourage hands-on practice. This methodology fosters conceptual mastery, independent thinking, and practical confidence.
Outside teaching, I stay updated on chemical research, experimental techniques, and innovative educational strategies. Integrating current knowledge into lessons ensures content is relevant, exciting, and meaningful. Observing learners gain confidence, deepen understanding, and cultivate curiosity about chemistry is highly rewarding. Supporting students to achieve academic excellence while fostering a lasting passion for the subject defines my teaching approach.
