About Reid
My journey in chemistry began with fascination for how invisible molecular interactions create the materials and processes we see every day. I earned a B.Sc in Chemistry and Nanoscience, where I explored both classical chemical principles and modern applications at the smallest scales. Over 11 years of teaching, I have helped students develop strong understanding and lasting confidence in chemistry.
I teach chemistry through clarity, patience, and structured thinking. I believe students succeed when they understand mechanisms and logic, not when they memorise disconnected facts. My sessions focus on guiding learners through calculations, reaction reasoning, and conceptual depth in a way that feels manageable and encouraging. I enjoy supporting students aiming for academic excellence as well as those rebuilding confidence.
Outside tutoring, I remain engaged with chemistry through continued learning and interest in scientific innovation. Teaching chemistry is fulfilling because I get to watch students move from uncertainty to mastery. Helping learners feel capable of understanding the building blocks of matter is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

Chemistry becomes much easier when students understand it as the science of transformation and balance, not just equations on paper. My lessons focus on helping learners explore atoms, bonding, acids and bases, stoichiometry, equilibrium, and reaction energy through clear reasoning and practical problem-solving. I guide students step by step so they can approach chemical calculations with confidence and accuracy. Sessions are structured, supportive, and designed to make chemistry feel logical rather than intimidating.
Each lesson is tailored to the learner’s level. Beginners build strong foundations in chemical symbols, formulae, and basic reactions using simple explanations. Intermediate students strengthen their skills with balancing equations, mole concepts, and structured practice questions. Advanced learners focus on kinetics, equilibrium systems, titration problems, and exam-level reasoning. Virtual experiments, real-world examples, and guided correction help students improve steadily.
Chemistry teaches students how to think carefully, analyse systems, and solve problems with precision. Many learners gain confidence once they see the patterns behind reactions. My goal is to help students feel in control of chemistry, developing both academic success and a deeper appreciation of how matter changes in the world around us.
