About Jake
I have a deep fascination with the interactions of chemicals, which inspired me to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and dedicate the last 5 years to teaching students of all levels. My teaching philosophy centers on simplicity, clarity, and practical understanding, helping learners develop confidence in complex concepts.
I use clear examples, exercises, and visual aids to make abstract ideas tangible. Whether working with beginners or more advanced students, I tailor my approach to match individual learning styles and encourage independent thinking. By breaking down processes step by step, I ensure that students grasp the logic behind each concept.
Outside tutoring, I continue exploring chemistry in real-life applications and staying updated on new developments. This allows me to bring fresh, relevant examples into my lessons. Teaching chemistry is rewarding because I get to guide students as they develop analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a genuine interest in discovering how the world works on a molecular level.

Chemistry becomes engaging when students can see how molecules interact and reactions unfold in everyday life. In my lessons, I focus on making chemical concepts simple, logical, and relatable. We explore topics like reaction types, acids and bases, stoichiometry, molecular structure, and energy changes through clear explanations and interactive problem-solving. I encourage learners to ask questions, make observations, and apply their understanding through exercises and examples, creating a dynamic and supportive learning environment.
I structure lessons according to each student’s background. Beginners start with atomic structure, bonding, and simple reactions. Intermediate learners explore chemical equilibrium, reaction rates, and solution chemistry. Advanced learners tackle kinetics, thermodynamics, and more complex analytical problems. Hands-on practice, illustrative diagrams, and guided reasoning are integrated into every session to help learners internalize concepts rather than memorize formulas.
The goal of my lessons is to help students feel confident with chemistry concepts and develop logical problem-solving skills. They learn to think critically about reactions, perform calculations accurately, and apply knowledge in practical situations. Through patient guidance, structured exercises, and real-world examples, I aim to make chemistry both understandable and enjoyable, fostering curiosity and independent thinking in every learner.
