About Calia
I have 8 years of experience teaching Chemistry to students working towards stronger grades, exam success, and deeper scientific understanding. I earned a B.Sc in Analytical Chemistry, which provided strong grounding in chemical measurement, laboratory methods, and the detailed reasoning required in modern chemistry. This academic background allows me to teach chemistry with clarity, ensuring students understand both calculations and conceptual foundations.
My teaching approach is patient, structured, and focused on building real understanding rather than memorisation. I enjoy guiding learners through difficult topics by breaking them into manageable steps and using real-world examples that make concepts feel relevant. I create a learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, practising openly, and gradually building confidence through steady improvement.
Outside tutoring, I stay engaged with chemistry through scientific reading, interest in environmental applications, and exploration of modern chemical innovations. Teaching chemistry is deeply fulfilling because I see students transform from feeling overwhelmed into feeling capable and confident. Supporting that growth motivates my work every day.

Chemistry becomes much more approachable when students recognise it as the science of how matter changes, interacts, and forms the world around us. In my lessons, I guide learners through atomic structure, bonding, reactions, stoichiometry, acids and bases, equilibrium, and organic chemistry with calm, structured explanation. I focus on helping students connect concepts logically so that chemistry feels consistent rather than confusing. Each session builds understanding step by step, ensuring learners feel supported as they develop both theoretical clarity and practical calculation skills.
Lessons are tailored to the student’s level. Beginners work on the periodic table, basic chemical equations, naming compounds, and introductory mole concepts. Intermediate learners strengthen their ability in balancing reactions, concentration calculations, energy changes, and laboratory reasoning. Advanced students explore deeper organic mechanisms, kinetics, thermodynamics, and exam-level application questions that require analytical thinking. Every lesson includes guided practice, correction, and explanation so students improve steadily.
Chemistry lessons also help students develop precision, reasoning, and confidence in approaching challenging scientific problems. Over time, learners feel more capable of handling complex questions calmly and accurately. My goal is to help students succeed academically while also appreciating chemistry as a meaningful science that explains the material world.
