About Ivy
My passion for chemistry began with curiosity about molecules, reactions, and the principles that govern transformations. I pursued a B.Sc in Chemistry followed by an M.Sc in Biochemistry, which gave me a strong foundation in both theory and laboratory applications. Over 9 years, I have taught students at various levels, focusing on clarity, engagement, and analytical reasoning skills.
I prioritize structured, interactive, and engaging lessons. Students benefit from stepwise explanations, visual models, guided exercises, and real-life applications. They are encouraged to reason independently, test hypotheses, and reflect on outcomes, promoting deeper understanding and self-confidence in chemical problem-solving.
Outside of teaching, I continue to explore biochemical research, experimental techniques, and emerging scientific insights. Watching learners progress from uncertainty to comprehension and gaining confidence in their reasoning is deeply fulfilling. My goal is to help students master chemistry concepts while fostering analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and a lifelong appreciation for the logic and beauty of chemical science.

Chemistry becomes deeply engaging when learners can see the connection between theory, laboratory experiments, and practical applications. My lessons cover molecular structures, bonding, reaction kinetics, acids and bases, chemical equilibrium, thermodynamics, and stoichiometry, emphasizing both conceptual understanding and hands-on reasoning. Each session encourages predictive thinking, hypothesis testing, and analytical reasoning, enabling learners to develop conceptual clarity, critical thinking, and confidence in approaching chemical problems.
Lesson plans are adapted to the student’s current proficiency. Beginners focus on foundational chemical principles, simple calculations, and basic reaction understanding. Intermediate learners tackle multi-step problem-solving, applied reaction mechanisms, and analytical exercises. Advanced learners engage in complex experimental design, reaction pathway analysis, and thermodynamic reasoning.
