About Alyssa
My passion for chemistry began with a fascination for the invisible processes that govern the behavior of matter. This curiosity led me to pursue a B.Sc in Chemical Sciences, where I gained in-depth knowledge of chemical principles, laboratory techniques, and analytical reasoning. Over 10 years of teaching, I have guided students from initial uncertainty to confident problem solvers, emphasizing both conceptual understanding and practical application. I approach teaching with patience, clarity, and engagement. Many students find chemistry challenging because it is often introduced abstractly. I focus on breaking complex topics into logical steps, using visual aids, examples, and hands-on exercises to support comprehension. Encouraging questions and independent exploration is central to my teaching philosophy. Beyond teaching, I remain actively involved in chemistry through research reading, experimental observation, and application of chemical principles in real-world contexts. Teaching chemistry is deeply fulfilling because I witness students grow in confidence, develop critical thinking skills, and cultivate a curiosity that extends beyond the classroom.
