About Afkar
I am an experienced tutor specializing in chemical engineering subjects. Since 2020, I have taught over 50 university students, averaging 1500 hours of one-on-one online tutoring. I hold a BEng from Imperial College London and am adept at conveying chemical engineering concepts in a way that my students can understand. I make sure that my students would feel safe asking questions and/or explanations regarding the subjects throughout the lesson. I am passionate in guiding and making sure that my students can succeed in the way they can and hopefully make engineering subjects a little less daunting than they are! Subjects I have taught, but not limited to, are reaction engineering, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, process dynamics, and mathematics for engineering.
My tutoring successes include helping students achieve first-class grades in challenging Imperial College London exams across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd years, as well as in University College London, and Queen Mary exams. I also assisted a student in passing the Tokyo University master's entrance exam and helped another earn an award in chemical engineering design. Additionally, I have also tutored students from The University of Manchester, University of Leeds and many more. Note that the advertised rate is my base rate and may increase depending on the complexity of the subject being taught.

Lessons will depend on the needs of the students, which will be communicated in the first free introductory lesson!
With chemical engineering undergraduates, a typical lesson would be to go over problem sheets, tutorials, or lectures from their respective university. Otherwise, our session could be a discussion of unit design methods or whatever subject or topics that the student need help on. I strive to make sure that the student understands the thought process that goes through solving engineering problems whilst making sure that the important underlying concepts are also understood.
