About Rukayat
Hi! My name is Rukayat Oladapo, and I’m a Chemical and Pharmaceutical Science student at Dublin City University with hands-on laboratory and industry placement experience. I chose to tutor because I know what it feels like to struggle with chemistry. It can feel overwhelming, confusing, and very easy to fall behind, especially when lessons move quickly in school. I’ve been there, and I understand how frustrating it can be to sit in class and feel lost or feel like your questions are silly. I want to be the tutor I would have loved to have. I enjoy breaking down difficult topics into simple, easy-to-understand steps, and helping students realize that chemistry isn’t “impossible”; it just needs to be explained the right way. Seeing a student’s confidence grow and their results improve is honestly one of the most rewarding parts of teaching for me. Because I currently study and work in laboratory and GLP-based environments, I can also show students how chemistry applies to real life and real careers, making lessons more interesting and easier to remember. My goal is to help every student I teach feel capable, supported, and confident, not just in chemistry, but in themselves.

Every student learns differently and I truly believe that with the right support, any student can understand chemistry and succeed.
My lessons are designed to be calm, friendly, and judgement-free. Many students come to me feeling anxious, confused, or convinced that chemistry “just isn’t for them.” My goal is to change that.
I take time to:
Explain topics step-by-step in simple language, build strong foundations before moving on and use exam-focused methods and past questions so students know how to score marks, not just learn theory
Because I study Chemical and Pharmaceutical Science and have real laboratory experience, I can explain chemistry in a clear, practical, real-world way that makes it easier to remember and understand.
I also focus on confidence-building, helping students feel comfortable asking questions, developing good study habits, and walking into exams feeling prepared rather than panicked.
My aim isn’t just to “get through the material,” but to help each student feel capable, supported, and successful in chemistry.
