About Phong
Hi, I’m Phong, a passionate and friendly Thai tutor from Chiang Mai! As a self-taught English speaker, I understand the struggles and challenges of learning a new language. This experience has given me empathy and insight into the journey of language learners, and I use that to create lessons that are supportive, enjoyable, and effective. With a background in social sciences and years of experience working with people from diverse cultures, I focus on helping students feel confident and excited about using Thai in real-life situations. I know that everyone learns differently, so I personalize my teaching approach to suit your unique goals and preferred learning style—whether it’s through structured lessons, casual conversations, or creative activities. My goal is to make Thai accessible and fun, empowering you to communicate confidently and connect with Thai culture in a meaningful way. Let’s work together to make your Thai learning journey enjoyable and rewarding!

My Approach as a Thai Listening and Speaking Tutor
I believe that the best way to learn a language is through natural, engaging conversations. My lessons focus on building confidence in listening and speaking by practising real-life scenarios, like ordering food, introducing yourself, or having casual chats.
Teaching Method and Techniques:
I use a mix of interactive activities, fun role-playing, and practical examples to help you connect with the language naturally. I adapt my lessons to match your goals and interests, ensuring that learning feels enjoyable and relevant to your everyday life.
A Typical Lesson Plan:
Warm-up: Start with a friendly chat to practise common phrases.
Focus Area: Dive into key listening and speaking skills based on your goals (e.g., tones, vocabulary, or fluency).
Practice: Role-playing and real-world scenarios to reinforce what you’ve learned.
Feedback: Tips on pronunciation and practical ways to improve between lessons.
What Sets Me Apart:
As someone with experience teaching and working across different cultural contexts, I make lessons relaxed, approachable, and personalised for every learner. I understand how to break down Thai into simple, manageable steps so you feel progress after every session.
Who the Lessons Are For:
Whether you're a beginner just starting to learn Thai or an intermediate learner looking to sharpen your skills, my lessons are tailored to your level and needs. Perfect for travellers, expats, or anyone wanting to connect more deeply with Thai culture!
