I am a dedicated individual with a penchant for intellectual pursuits and a passion for personal growth. As a Senior at the University of Texas, I am pursuing a major in Technical Writing and a minor in Psychology, striving to blend the analytical skills of the former with the human understanding fostered by the latter.

Embarking on the journey of teaching encompasses more than just imparting knowledge; it's about fostering engagement, igniting curiosity, and nurturing independent thinking. My teaching methodology is a carefully crafted blend of these elements, designed to not only educate but also inspire.
Each lesson begins with an engaging introduction, often in the form of a riddle or puzzle, to captivate the student's attention and set a positive tone for learning. This initial icebreaker serves to break down barriers and create a comfortable environment conducive to learning.
Following the icebreaker, I allocate time for a brief review of the previous session. This ensures continuity and reinforces concepts previously covered, allowing for a seamless progression in learning. Utilizing the Socratic Method, I encourage students to actively participate in the learning process by asking thought-provoking questions and guiding them towards discovering answers independently. This approach not only enhances critical thinking skills but also instills a sense of ownership and confidence in their abilities.
A visual aid, such as a whiteboard displaying the lesson agenda, helps keep the session organized and serves as a reference point throughout. The agenda typically includes tasks such as practicing spelling, pronunciation, and vocabulary acquisition. Interactive activities, such as repeat-after-me sessions and copying words and meanings from the whiteboard, reinforce learning in a dynamic and engaging manner.
In a 60-minute lesson, I allocate the final portion for a creative writing assignment, carefully designed to both challenge and inspire. These prompts are not only meant to reinforce language skills but also to encourage creativity and imagination. For example, a prompt might ask students to envision themselves as video game developers, creating a character with unique attributes and weaknesses. This exercise not only hones writing skills but also fosters creativity and self-expression.
At the conclusion of each session, I take the time to review and provide constructive feedback on the writing assignment, focusing on spelling, grammar, and creativity. This personalized feedback loop ensures continuous improvement and reinforces learning objectives for future sessions.
