About Whitney
With over 12 years of teaching experience in both domestic and international classrooms, I have had the pleasure of teaching a variety of students. From 4-year-olds learning English as a Foreign Language in South Korea to adults learning Business English in Spain, to teaching in public Title 1 classrooms in 3 states, I have encountered a multitude of students, learning styles, and obstacles. My personal educational philosophy revolves around the belief that all learners are capable of success. I have high standards for myself and my students, but approach teaching in a flexible and individual-based way. I have been nominated for Teacher of the Year 4 times and won once. My district-based growth assessments averaged from 150-195% of the target goals, outperforming many other schools in the district and state.

I incorporate games, practice, and core instruction into lessons. Depending on student goals, I will access proven teaching methods to challenge you and help you succeed.
Lessons can range from mid-elementary age and up. My expertise is Reading from grades 3-5.
