About Dorothy
I have a BS in Mathematics and Education. I am working towards my MS in Education. I am a certified NYS Math Teacher for grades 5-12. I have been a math teacher for 3 years but I have 10 years of experience tutoring students of all ages. I have experience tutoring Middle School Math, Algebra, and Geometry. I also have a lot of experience helping students prepare for Regents, ACT, and SAT exams. I have a proven track record of success in improving student performance.

I believe that it is important to get to know each student and how they learn best so that I can adjust our sessions to be as productive as possible. I have strong content knowledge and can express this content in a way where my students understand and retain it. I do this is by having my students be engaged in the learning process and by constantly monitoring their growth. I have a lot of experience helping students improve their math skills and prepare for standardized tests. I am passionate about mathematics and I want to inspire my students to love mathematics as well.
