About Nsikakabasi Idongesit
Hello! My name is NsikakAbasi Essien, and I am a trained musician, music scholar, and dedicated piano instructor with a deep passion for music education and musicianship development.
I graduated as the best student in my university, and my journey in music has been shaped by both academic excellence and practical experience. Over the years, I have worked with students of different levels, helping them build strong technical foundations, develop musical understanding, and grow in confidence at the piano.
My teaching is driven by a genuine desire to see students succeed. I am patient, structured, and attentive to individual learning styles, ensuring that each student receives the guidance they need to progress effectively.
Beyond teaching, I am actively involved in music performance and continuous learning, which allows me to bring fresh, relevant, and practical insights into my lessons.

My approach to teaching is built on a simple principle: true musical growth comes from both understanding and application. I don’t just teach students what to play—I help them understand why music works, so they can develop confidence, creativity, and independence at the piano.
Each lesson is tailored to the individual, combining clear explanations, practical demonstrations, and guided practice to ensure steady and enjoyable progress.
A typical session begins with technical development—including scales, finger exercises, and coordination—followed by a review of previous material to reinforce learning. From there, we introduce new concepts or pieces, which are immediately applied through playing, interpretation, or improvisation. Every lesson ends with clear feedback and structured practice guidance, so students always know how to improve between sessions.
What sets me apart is my ability to simplify complex musical ideas and make them practical. As a best graduating student, I bring both strong academic knowledge and real-world musicianship into my teaching. I also blend classical foundations with contemporary and gospel styles, helping students become well-rounded and versatile musicians—not just note players.
My lessons are designed for a wide range of learners: from complete beginners to advanced students, including those preparing for exams, performances, or developing skills for church and contemporary music settings. Regardless of your level, my goal is to help you grow into a confident, expressive, and independent musician.
