About Julia
I am a Politics and International Relations student at university currently in my third year.
I completed GCSE English Language and Literature achieving grade 9's in both, and a 7 in English Literature and Language in IB Diploma Programme.
One of my main priorities as a tutor is helping students develop confidence in their abilities. Many students come to lessons feeling uncertain about analysing texts, expressing their ideas, or approaching exams.
I create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and challenging themselves.
I believe that confidence grows through understanding and practice. By recognising students' strengths, providing constructive feedback, and celebrating progress, I help learners build the skills and self-belief needed to succeed independently.
My goal is for students to leave lessons not only with stronger English Language and Literature skills, but also with greater confidence in their own ideas and abilities.

My lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs, whether they are studying English Language, English Literature, preparing for examinations, or looking to improve their general reading and writing skills.
My techniques and methodologies:

- Personalised lesson planning based on individual strengths and areas for improvement.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes. For exam preparation, I recommend 80-minute sessions, as this provides sufficient time to review exam specifications and mark schemes, analyse exemplar responses, discuss effective techniques, and complete guided practice questions.
I have over three years of tutoring experience working with students aged 7 to 30+, supporting a wide range of abilities and learning goals. I am a certified English tutor and have helped students improve their analytical writing, reading comprehension, examination performance, and overall confidence in English.
I strive to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment that recognises students' strengths while identifying clear areas for improvement. My goal is to help every student build confidence, develop independent thinking skills, and achieve their academic objectives.
