As a tutor, my approach is focused on creating a supportive, interactive learning environment where each student feels comfortable and motivated to learn. Here’s how I structure my teaching:
Teaching Method and Techniques
I believe in a student-centered approach, tailoring lessons to meet individual needs and learning styles. I use a combination of techniques such as:
Interactive exercises: Engaging students through real-life situations, discussions, and problem-solving.
Multimedia tools: Incorporating videos, articles, and online resources to enrich the learning experience.
Continuous feedback: Offering constructive feedback to guide improvement and boost confidence.
Practice-focused learning: Encouraging active practice to reinforce new concepts, especially in writing and speaking.
Typical Lesson Plan
Warm-up (5-10 minutes): Start with a brief review of the previous lesson or a short, engaging activity to spark conversation.
New Content (20-25 minutes): Introduce the main topic, explain key concepts, and walk through examples with the student.
Practice & Application (15-20 minutes): Provide exercises or prompts for students to apply what they’ve learned, followed by guided practice and corrections.
Review & Homework (5-10 minutes): End with a recap and set assignments or tasks for independent practice.
What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor
What sets me apart is my adaptability. I tailor lessons to suit different learning styles—whether a student needs visual aids, auditory explanations, or hands-on exercises. I also provide personalized feedback to address strengths and weaknesses, ensuring each student progresses at their own pace.
Additionally, I strive to make lessons engaging and enjoyable, which helps to reduce anxiety and build confidence.
Who the Lessons Are For
My lessons are for:
All proficiency levels (beginner to advanced).
Students preparing for exams (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge English exams, etc.).
Anyone seeking to improve general English skills, including speaking, listening, writing, and reading.
Professionals looking to refine their business English, presentation skills, or email communication.
Whether a student is looking to improve their conversational English or prepare for a specific exam, my lessons are structured to support their individual goals.
