About Jake
I am a part-time TEFL-certified teacher and a full time stock trader and investor with a matric bachelors. I was born in England and raised in Cape Town South Africa. I have also worked as an IT Specialist at a marketing company. I absolutely love travelling and meeting new people around the world, so teaching English as a foreign language is a dream job!

My approach when teaching English is based off the CLT (Communicative Language Teaching) method. This means that I ensure my students have an understanding of the material and can use it in everyday conversation, rather than focusing on pure spelling and structure. I also believe in making the learning process as fun as possible to ensure my learners stay motivated and continue to learn outside of class! My lessons are suitable for all age groups, are roughly one hour in length, and are available all days of the week.

Perfect! Jake exceeded my expectations of an English teacher. Every lesson was well prepared and perfectly structured. Jake was able to understand my English level and adjust the lessons accordingly. I was able to improve a lot in a short period of time. He also helped me to write my application. I got the job at that time. Thanks Jake!
