About Savannah
I am a certified English Language Arts and Social Studies teacher with experience working with students from early childhood through middle school. Over the past several years, I have worked in both classroom and childcare settings, helping students build confidence, strengthen academic skills, and develop a love of learning.
I strive to create a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and challenging themselves. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them become more confident and independent learners.
I understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to fit each student’s individual needs, learning style, and goals. Whether a student needs help with reading comprehension, writing, study skills, or Social Studies content, I work to make learning interactive, meaningful, and enjoyable.

My approach as a tutor is centered around making learning engaging, supportive, and personalized for each student. I believe students learn best when they are actively involved in the lesson, feel comfortable asking questions, and can connect what they are learning to real-life experiences. I focus on building both academic skills and confidence.
My teaching methods include hands-on activities, discussion-based learning, interactive reading and writing activities, educational games, project-based learning, and the use of technology such as online museums, videos, and digital resources. I also adjust my instruction based on each student’s learning style and needs.
A typical lesson usually begins with a quick review or warm-up activity, followed by direct instruction and guided practice. Students then complete interactive activities or independent practice while I provide support and feedback. I like to end lessons with a reflection, review game, or short assessment to check understanding and celebrate progress.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my classroom teaching experience across multiple age groups. I have worked with children from 6 weeks old through middle school, including experience as both an early childhood educator and a certified ELA and Social Studies teacher. I create a positive and encouraging environment where students feel safe to learn, make mistakes, and grow. I also focus on making lessons engaging rather than relying only on worksheets or memorization.
My lessons are best suited for elementary and middle school students, especially in English Language Arts, reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary, study skills, and Social Studies. I can also support students who need extra help building confidence, staying organized, or improving their overall academic skills.
