About Mason
I'm a CELTA-certified English pronunciation and accent coach with over fourteen years of teaching experience. Over the past five years, I've taught more than 6,500 online lessons on Italki, helping nearly a thousand students from around the world improve their pronunciation, accent, and spoken confidence. Before moving primarily online, I worked in person with actors and professionals, mainly in Madrid, Spain.
I'm originally from California, and I just returned from Spain after 5 years. Now based in Eugene, Oregon, I bring a global, real-world perspective to my classes, and my focus is practical. I'll give you clear, specific techniques to reduce your accent and sound more natural.
My students include actors, YouTubers, influencers, university students, physicians, engineers, and other professionals who want to communicate more clearly, sound more natural, and speak with greater confidence.
My teaching style is supportive and encouraging, but also focused and results-driven. I want you to feel comfortable making mistakes and pushing yourself, because that's where real progress happens.
Together, we'll analyze your pronunciation, break old habits, and build new ones step by step. We'll work on vowels, consonants, prosody (stress, rhythm, and intonation), linking, and reductions, using practical drills that will help you improve your accent in real everyday conversations.

My specialty is American English Pronunciation and Accent Reduction, for intermediate and advanced learners who want to sound more natural, communicate clearly, and speak with greater confidence.
My lessons are structured, practical, and results oriented. Before each lesson, I'll send you customized materials, so you can familiarize yourself with the concepts we'll be covering. We'll begin with the fundamentals, including a simple introduction to the International Phonetic Alphabet and to speech mechanics—how to position your lips, tongue, and jaw to produce English sounds accurately.
While we'll work on vowels and consonants, the biggest difference between speaking clearly and sounding natural is prosody: the rhythm, stress, intonation, linking, and reductions that give English its natural flow. We'll also cover consonant clusters, fricatives, and stop consonants (including the flap T and glottal T), plus other advanced features that help refine your accent.
Every lesson is tailored to your individual goals. Whether you're preparing for presentations, job interviews, acting roles, YouTube videos, podcasts, or everyday conversations, we'll focus on the pronunciation skills that matter most to you. If you have your own materials—scripts, presentations, speeches—bring them to class, and we'll use them to improve your pronunciation in a practical, real-world context.
