About Vanessa
"Folk music is the language I speak most fluently. My BA Folk Music provides the foundation for 13 years of experience teaching everything from posture and hold to complex orchestral playing. I have worked with hundreds of performance-focused students, hobbyists, and returning learners to refine their vibrato, shifting positions, and tone production. Developing left hand agility requires more than just reading notation.
I emphasize the physical connection to the instrument to help players move beyond technical rigidity. My approach ensures that ornamentation and bowing techniques like spiccato or staccato become second nature. I am here to help you find your unique voice on the fiddle. You will succeed through dedicated practice."

"Pacing remains flexible to ensure you grasp each nuance before moving forward. Immediate feedback defines the way I evaluate your progress during every practice session. We address your specific needs by using custom scale and etude sheets for each student.
Lessons focus on building a bridge between your current ability and your musical goals. My background in oral tradition means we prioritize listening and imitation alongside rigorous technical exercises. You will find that mastering ABRSM or Trinity grade exam prep becomes more manageable when you understand the internal pulse of the music.
I blend my formal degree knowledge with the informal, tradition-rooted environment that defines my studio. Scaling the difficulty level keeps the process engaging for all learners.
