About Joanna
I genuinely care about you and your progress. I pour my heart and soul into my work because it is my vocation. I have a CELTA qualification and a Master's degree in TESOL.
I have over 7 years' experience working with students from all over the world, with a particular focus on Brazilian students. I teach adults and high school students of any level from zero to C2. I can also help you prepare for school and international language exams.
I speak Portuguese, French, Polish, and English, and I am always willing to research more about your language to help me understand your difficulties. Knowing so many languages gives me a unique understanding of the difficulties that students are faced with when trying to learn a new language.
I tailor lessons to the individual to make sure that what you are learning will be relevant to your specific context. I like to use visual aids, colour, songs, videos, news articles, and humour when teaching. The best way to learn is by having fun! I provide a thorough interview to better understand your pedagogical needs and adapt my teaching methods to suit your needs and preferences.
A standard lesson is 60 minutes - 50 minutes lesson + 10 minutes admin (homework, scheduling, payment, feedback. Lessons can be based on a set curriculum, or you can come to me with a specific request.
