About Christine
Though I am a qualified History Teacher, having gained my PGCE (Further Education) at Edge Hill University in July 2014 and a 2.1 Degree in History (2009-2012), I also have a wealth of experience in teaching an array of other subjects. I hold a level 3 qualifications in English (Language & Literature) and have two years experience of teaching both GCSE and Functional Skills mathematics.
In addition to teaching GCSE English Language and mathematics I have also taught a Level 2 History class, a Level 2 NCFE Helping in schools class and SEN (P Level) Functional Skills and French classes. In addition to these tutoring roles I have experience in teaching ESOL classes at Kensington Community Centre. I passed, first time, a BKSB Skills Test in both Mathematics and English.
In 2015 I gained a (NIACE) Aspirational Learner of the Year Award for my teaching approach whilst working on placement for the Workers Educational Association.
My most recent FE tutoring role was for the Nugent Care Group and Oakmere Community College. I taught mathematics, English and humanities at these establishments between August 2015 and March 2017.
I am currently working at a FE College as a LSM for GCSE English Language classes. I have my own learners to support/assist. I have also been working for the Randstad agency for various universities, colleges and schools including two terms of work for the Nugent care group.
I am able to formulate excellent relationships with challenging learners and plan efficient lessons. My excellent communication skills have enabled me to assist students from diverse backgrounds and with variable ability levels. I consider myself a dedicated and caring professional who is committed to motivate and direct student progression through a positive and inclusive learning experience.
I hold a full (clean) driving licence and have reliable transport.
