About Samiyah
I first started writing poems in 8th grade. I found that no matter how long I went without writing, it was something I was naturally good at. Now that I'm older and have written thousands of poems, I want to help the youth with their poetry assignments.

I get the students thinking. Poetry comes easily to me. We can make it very deep, very dark, very cheerful or very dramatic. Unlike math or science, I don't have to think hard to write an A+ poem. As I said, it comes naturally to me and I strive it have it comes naturally to my students. A lot of students I've seen have received Fs on poetry assignments that if I had been their tutor they would've gotten As on.
