About Folasade
Hi I’m currently studying for a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Film at the University of Cambridge and I have 3 years of experience as a History tutor on another tutoring platform called MyTutor.
My achievements that help me tutor: an A in A Level History, an A* in A Level History coursework and having worked as a SEN teaching assistant. Moreover, my Master of Philosophy course has helped me learn how to teach my students History from a deeper perspective. “What does it mean to explain? What does your argument mean in a wider context of History?”
In GCSE/A Level History I mainly specialise in the Cold War, Crime & Punishment, Medicine, Nazi Germany, America, South Africa, and the Tudors. However, no other topic is an issue for me. If you are interested, book a free 30-minute session with me :)

In my sessions, I prioritise establishing a good rapport with students in order to create a warm and comfortable environment that suits their needs. I make my lessons interactive and less of a lecture; therefore, students are always engaging with content. Moreover, I go over both content and exam structure. Some lessons may be purely dedicated to understanding and analysing how to write a high-level response. This is because I've noted that once students understand a good writing structure and have the ability to break down questions, they're destined to get a 6/B and above. I also provide alternate methods to structuring answers and give my own personal advice on how to revise. I'll measure progress by the students' increase in ability in tackling difficult questions and their ability to answer my questions without me giving any prompts or hints.
