About Joe
Hi! My name is Joe, a recent biology graduate from the University of Cambridge and a biomedical research graduate from Imperial College London. My studies have provided me with a breadth of knowledge spanning multiple areas within mathematics and life sciences, and I am keen to share my knowledge with others. I have worked as a tutor for three years, teaching biology and maths at GCSE and A-level. Having recently achieved an A* in all of the GCSE and A-level courses I tutor, I am well aware of the best approaches to tackle the current curriculums, as well as the small tips and tricks required to achieve those important extra marks in the exams. For my tutoring, I prefer a student-based approach, whereby the needs of the student are first identified and a tutoring schedule is tailored to target the weaker areas the student may have. Specifically, for mathematics, I like to focus on particular topics before practising past paper questions, for which I provide model answers, where the student can really get to grips with what is expected in the exam. For biology, I like to first ensure the student is at home with the core concepts of the course before progressing to incorporate the additional details required to achieve higher marks in the exam. For both subjects, where possible, I like to bring in ideas from outside the course to give the student a better grounding in their subject, and to provide the student with exciting concepts that may inspire them to consider pursuing a career in these fields.

Joe tutored my younger sister for GCSE, and then A level mathematics. He was absolutely brilliant, not only having the technical expertise, being a current student at Cambridge University, with an A* in both maths and further maths at A level, he was a great teacher. Joe would always take care to make sure my sister was confident in all topics and fully understood the material. Beyond that, he was always very organised and easy to reach, adding additional revision sessions whenever we asked. Overall he is a brilliant tutor.
Joe has a great deal of experience in many different areas of biology, and is able to confidently pass on his knowledge to students. His enthusiastic style helps anyone to understand difficult concepts and he has a strong work ethic. You will not be disappointed to have Joe as a tutor.
