About Maya
I am a University of Cambridge graduate in Natural Sciences and am a current medical student. Chemistry can often be a challenging subject for many people, and this was definitely the case for me when I was undertaking GCSE and A-Level Chemistry exams. However, I managed to achieve an A* in both. My goal is to share the strategies and insights I gained to help my tutees achieve similar success. I have accumulated over 250 hours of tutoring experience in Chemistry and other sciences for GCSE and A-Level students, and I continue to build on this experience.

Whatever it is you want to focus on in a session, I'm here to support you in developing your knowledge and skills. Exam-focused approach - I deliver engaging and interactive lessons to tackle challenging topics. As well as helping you to understand a topic, I ensure you are able to apply your knowledge - particularly in an exam situation. Exam question practice is built into the lessons, with a big focus on exam technique and how to maximise your marks. Relaxed environment - I am a friendly and approachable tutor, which allows you to feel confident in asking questions and results in better learning!

Maya is a very friendly, patient, and supportive teacher. We worked through things at a flexible pace, which meant that we could spend more time on what I found more difficult. Her explanations were clear and thorough, but she could adapt them in case I didn't fully understand the first time. Maya also walked me through exam questions and provided plenty of other practice questions to consolidate my learning. Maya helped me to improve my grades and understanding significantly.
