About Sarah
Hi there! I'm Sarah, I am an experienced and flexible Primary teacher with a Masters-level PGCE from Homerton College, Cambridge and have 8 years of experience in schools and 2 years tutoring experience with students up to Y7. I have extensive practice in teaching reading, writing and maths, and can offer all Primary subjects, 7+ and 11+ exams.
I am passionate about working with children from a range of backgrounds, including those with anxiety or school refusal, Autism and ADHD. I use a trauma-informed and developmentally appropriate pedagogy alongside a warm, friendly and welcoming approach to help children achieve their best. I also have experience working with children with life-limiting conditions, who are immuno-compromised or clinically vulnerable, so if your child has a medical condition, you can be sure I will handle it with sensitivity and professionalism.
I have up-to-date certificates in Safeguarding & Child Protection, Data Protection and GDPR, the Prevent Duty, Paediatric First Aid Awareness, Paediatric Basic Life Support, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Food Allergy Awareness & Anaphylaxis.
I am currently studying for my MSc in Psychology at Birkbeck College, and I have a gorgeous pet cat called Willow
I look forward to hearing from you!

I offer support for primary school children, whether they are struggling with academics or just need extra help with homework or exam prep. I often support with reading, writing, spelling and maths, but I can offer all subjects, as well as 7+ and 11+ support.
I can offer tuition at the students' home within the area local to Herne Hill, East Dulwich, Camberwell and Denmark Hill, at my own home (if you just have to meet the cat!), or virtually. Learning via Zoom is, in my experience, just as effective and extremely convenient!
I'm highly flexible and adapt my teaching to best fit the student. I have experience working with children with anxiety and school refusal, and I can tailor my approach to support them, using their interests to motivate them.

Sarah is an excellent teacher who has taught across the age ranges of primary schools from early years to KS2. She has also worked in alternative educational settings. She is inspiring, knowledgeable, and incredibly passionate about bringing out the best in children.
I would recommend Sarah Witkowski-Baker highly for a role as a tutor. As Deputy Headteacher at a primary school I have worked with her as a line manager for 3 years. She has demonstrated the skills to be an excellent teacher/tutor, and has a calm, warm and friendly manner with the children. Sarah is committed to forming positive relationships with all of the children she works with and is consistently professional. She is passionate about teaching and dedicated to ensuring that children are engaged in their learning and make progress.
