About Amiya
I graduated from the University of Cambridge with a first class degree in anthropology (HSPS) in 2017. Since then, I've been helping young people apply for HSPS and other arts/humanities degrees at Cambridge. I take on a few Cambridge-bound students per application cycle and we do an intensive course covering wider readings, the Cambridge application form, personal statement, Cambridge entrance exam, and interview preparation.
I deeply enjoy teaching course materials that I myself covered at Cambridge and try to emulate a Cambridge supervision-style in sessions with students. My online classroom is always a collaborative environment, and I make sure to tailor content and readings to the individual student as I believe it's important for learning to be fun and creative. We deepen our knowledge with each lesson and try to challenge our world view and our understanding of the subject matter at hand! I usually recommend starting with private tuition once a week, and moving to twice a week in the lead up to the exam or interview.
Additionally, I tutor ESL as well as school subjects like English literature, sociology, EPQ. I also tutor general essay writing and non-Oxbridge university admissions.
