About Oli
I am a part-time private tutor, giving lessons in secondary school science and mathematics as well as 11+ and 13+ secondary school entrance exams. I have a lot of experience preparing students for GCSE and A-Levels as well as entrance to top schools such as St Paul's Girls' School, Winchester College, Westminster, Kings etc. I am happy to teach online (usually Zoom) and also in person. I'm best in North West London but happy to travel to most places in the City. I am generally available to tutor weekday evenings and weekends and sometimes during weekday daytimes. I am also available to teach piano and music theory and also as an accompanist for instrumental and vocal lessons/exams. I am able to give Vocal Coaching sessions particularly for Musical Theatre repertoire. As an engineer turned musician, I have a very logical mind but also believe in bringing creativity and fun to education. My time at Cambridge opened up a wealth of opportunities for me and I too want to help children achieve their full potential so that they can go on to succeed in something they are passionate about. Thank you for your consideration! A little bit about my background.... I graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge in June 2014 with a BA (Hons) and MEng in Chemical Engineering. After working for a year in Cambridge as the Operations Manager of the ADC Theatre, I moved to London in 2015 to start a Postgraduate Diploma in Musical Direction at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. Having finished at Mountview, I now work as a freelance Musical Director and Musician and do a lot of private tutoring in my spare time. I tailor my lessons specifically to each individual student depending on their goals and specific subject level. With younger students, I tend to use games and puzzles alongside self-made content to keep the lessons engaging. With older students such as at GCSE and A-level, I like to give the student greater autonomy over the structure of the lesson as they will often know what they need help with.

Perfect! Oli teaches my son in preparation for GCSE Chemistry next year. They have worked together on this, my son highlights the areas he wants to go over, and that's where they go. Oli is always well prepared, he works efficiently and they always cover a lot of ground. My son says that one hour with Oli is like three hours working on his own. Originally my son did not want a tutor, now he would refuse to give him up. I cannot recommend Oli highly enough.

Oli came to my house and tutored my 11 and 14 year old daughters in maths. We did not have a specific exam in view, just an increase in confidence and a pleasure in the subject and Oli’s friendly and open nature,his sense of humour and understanding of the subject and the students needs meant that my daughters were able to tackle maths problems that daunted them before.
Oli has given our daughter Emily revision lessons for her AS maths exams this summer. We have been very impressed with his preparation and teaching of Emily. He is easy to work with it and explains in a clear way. We can highly recommend Oli for all levels of Maths
Oli tutored my daughter Mimi for her GCSEs, he was able to help with Maths, physics and chemistry and he really shifted by daughter's understanding and confidence in all three subjects. Oli was good fun to work with and Mimi enjoyed his sessions. We are hoping to get his help for A levels too.
My daughter, who is about to sit her A2 (together with AS resits) had completely lost confidence and wanted to give up maths. Oli has been excellent - his teaching has been patient and helpful. She is now on course for a grade A.
Exceptionally clear and well-prepared. Really helped to ecplain difficult concepts in accessible ways which worked well for me.
