About Susan
I am a Cambridge Engineering graduate now working as a research engineer. I achieved 4 A*'s in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry at A-level. Since 2019, I have tutored A-level Maths and Physics and mentored students across STEM as a STEM ambassador, bringing real-world engineering experience to my teaching.
My students consistently exceed their expectations in exams and develop practical problem-solving skills that prepare them for university and professional interviews. As a working engineer, I can show students how mathematical and physics concepts apply in actual research and industry contexts.
My tutees receive support beyond scheduled sessions, I'm available for help whenever needed. All lessons are conducted online using a professional setup that ensures effective learning. I also offer mock interviews at £80/hour, drawing on my experience in both academic and professional engineering environments.

I focus on building deep conceptual understanding rather than memorization. Students master fundamental principles first, then learn to apply these confidently to exam-specific problems tailored to their board.
I use a digital whiteboard during online sessions for real-time collaboration, where students work through problems alongside me. All lesson notes are saved and shared for future reference.
Between sessions, I provide targeted homework that progresses from basic applications to exam-level challenges. I emphasize problem-solving strategies and mathematical thinking - teaching students to break down complex problems systematically.
Students receive ongoing support beyond scheduled lessons and can message me with questions between sessions.
For ESAT tutoring, I have access to question banks, and already have experience in tutoring through the new system.
