About Shuayb
My name is Isa, and I'm a dedicated Maths and Economics tutor who's passionate about helping students overcome challenges and reach their full potential. My goal isn't just to help students improve, but to help them become the best they can be.
I enjoy teaching Maths because it follows a clear, logical, step-by-step structure. Once you break problems down into simple parts, the subject becomes far more approachable. Economics works the same way: it has many components, but a structured, well-guided approach makes it straightforward and engaging.
My tutoring combines patience, clarity, and strong organisation. I'm punctual, consistent, and adaptable, and I tailor my teaching to each student's individual needs. I've worked with students across multiple age groups, including learners with additional needs, which has strengthened my ability to adapt lessons to every situation.
Professionalism is central to how I teach. In the first lesson, I take time to understand the student's background, confidence level, and goals, then create a personalised learning plan and share it with the student and their parents. Every lesson begins with a 15-20 minute recap to make sure understanding is secure before moving on. Homework, structured practice, and regular tests reinforce knowledge and clearly measure improvement.
When a student feels anxious, discouraged, or behind, I identify the root cause and address it directly. By strengthening the fundamentals early, I make sure students feel confident, capable, and ready for exam-style challenges.
I've completed DBS checks and safeguarding training through Action Tutoring, and I serve as a course representative at the University of Liverpool. Academically, I achieved an A* in Economics and an A in Maths at AS-level, the subjects I now focus on teaching. Above all, I work hard to create a supportive, structured, and motivating environment where every student can thrive.

I teach using a clear step-by-step methodology that takes students from the basics all the way to advanced understanding. I start with simple foundations, build knowledge gradually, and guide students into tackling more challenging, exam-style questions with confidence. Throughout the lesson, I ask targeted practice questions to strengthen their base as they learn, so they're ready for independent problem-solving.
Lesson structure: All lessons are 60 minutes and taught online. I also provide homework and personalised feedback outside lesson time to support consistent progress.
Experience and qualifications: I have a year of tutoring experience, including with Action Tutoring, where I tutored Year 11 students in maths, strengthening my ability to support exam preparation and work with learners of different abilities. I'm currently a Business Economics student at the University of Liverpool, which sharpens my ability to explain mathematical and economic concepts clearly and logically.
Who my lessons are for: I tutor secondary students at GCSE and A-level in Maths, and Economics, including exam preparation.
What students can expect: I'm friendly, patient and structured, and I focus on building confidence, strengthening theory, and giving plenty of exam-style practice so students feel fully prepared for their assessments. I mainly teach one-to-one.

Shuayb is an excellent teacher and mentor for young students, he is a very patient and encouraging teacher for students who want to memorise the Quran. Shuayb is very trustworthy and I was happy to allow my son to take classes without supervision with Shuayb. He is always on time, teaches very well, motivates students and is an all-round good teacher of Quran and in particular of Hifdh for boys.
He is very adapting to different students, and plans the activities of each one of them keeping in mind their circumstances and abilities. This is why we always know what to expect from him. Moreover, he takes inputs from us and leads us to the right thing in a logical manner instead of dictating what he thinks is right.
Shuayb teaches my sons and I honestly couldn’t ask for a better teacher for them. They truly enjoy learning from him. He has so much passion and patience for teaching. He is always on time, very respectful, organized, professional but also really personable and always has a great attitude. I’d highly recommend him!
