About Valeria
I hold a Bachelor's degree and have a true love for the English language — writing, grammar, and reading have always been subjects close to my heart. Through tutoring friends, family, and volunteer work, I have developed the patience and insight needed to help young students not just learn English, but genuinely enjoy it.
Teaching English to elementary and middle school students requires more than knowing the rules — it requires being able to explain them in a way that makes sense to a child. I pride myself on doing exactly that, breaking down grammar, writing, and reading comprehension into clear, manageable steps that build real confidence over time.
Parents can trust that their child is in caring, capable hands. I come to every session prepared, attentive, and fully focused on their student's progress. I communicate openly, celebrate small wins, and never make a child feel embarrassed for not knowing something — because every question is a step forward.
My goal is simple: to help every student become a stronger, more confident communicator, one lesson at a time.

Teaching Method & Techniques
My approach is built on understanding, not memorization. For English, Grammar, and Writing, this means helping students grasp the why behind language rules — so they can apply them confidently on their own, not just on a worksheet. I keep sessions relaxed and conversational, because young learners open up and retain more when they feel at ease. I use my iPad to work through exercises visually and interactively, making lessons feel engaging rather than like extra homework.
A Typical Lesson
We meet over video call (Zoom or similar) and I start by checking in — what are they working on in class, what's confusing them, and what do they feel good about? From there we might work on sentence structure, punctuation, paragraph building, reading comprehension, or essay writing, depending on what they need most. Every session wraps up with a quick recap so students leave feeling clear and accomplished.
What Sets Me Apart
I'm patient, easygoing, and genuinely encouraging — which makes a big difference for students who feel nervous or frustrated about English. I adapt my explanations on the spot, trying new angles until something clicks. My goal is for every student to walk away a little more confident than when they started.
