About Henry
Thank you for considering me as your maths tutor I know choosing the right teacher matters, and I want you to feel confident you are in capable, professional hands. Tutoring is my profession, not a hobby, so every lesson is structured and built entirely around your goals. I hold a university degree in mathematics and have several years of tutoring experience, supporting students through GCSE, A-Level, IEB, NSC and NBT preparation as well as university-level coursework; I have also completed training in teaching methodology and safeguarding and hold an up-to-date background check. I am honest about my abilities. I will never bluff my way through a question, and if something falls outside my expertise I will research it and return with a proper answer. I teach mathematics in English, with native-level fluency. My approach is simple: diagnose your needs first, teach actively rather than lecture, build confidence alongside competence, and adapt constantly as you improve. A typical lesson includes a warm-up and review, clear instruction on new concepts, guided practice with my support, an independent task to confirm understanding, and a recap with next steps — usually 45 to 60 minutes, online or in person. My lessons suit students in grades 8 to 12, as well as university undergraduates and adult learners — from those building foundations to high achievers seeking stretch. Scheduling is flexible with evening and weekend slots, progress reports are available on request, and all resources are included.
