About Ananya
Hey there! :)
If you're looking for some help with understanding your maths classes or need some tips for upcoming exams, I'm here for you! I love maths, and helping students understand it better.
I currently study BSc Economics at the University of Warwick. In high school, I took IB Higher Level Maths with the Calculus Option (which overlaps significantly with A Level Further Maths) and achieved a 6. Before this, I took IB Middle Years Programme Mathematics (which overlaps with GCSE Maths) and achieved a 7. I know how stressful things can become, especially in the pre-university period where entry requirements loom over our heads. However, I strongly believe that with the right approach and attitude, you can get the grades you want!

I like helping others to look at maths from a more intuitive perspective, in a similar way to Khan Academy. Though mathematical jargon can be useful, too much of it hinders your understanding. I prefer to explain things in simple English, to help students understand the method first, and pick up the jargon later.
I also explain things in a step-by-step fashion, and rarely all at once. Mathematics is logical, and doing things one step at a time (even if you're a little slow at the start) keeps your head clear! Later, with more practice, you can develop the speed and accuracy you need for timed exams.
Finally, I like to work in humour or stories into my explanations. It sounds silly, but it's been proven that it makes things easier to remember. Maths can be fun! :)
