About Joshua
Hey there! Joshua Morgan, here. A working actor, director and producer based in Brooklyn, NY. II’ve spent over two decades performing and teaching professionally, from Broadway to television to regional theaters across the country.
After graduating from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, I ran a theater I founded in Washington, DC before moving to NY to join the last revival of LES MISERABLES before originating the role of "Shelly Berger" in the OBC of AIN'T TOO PROUD.
I've guest-starred on shows like Law & Order and FBI, and have directed reimagined classics and world premieres as well as performed all around the country.
I coach actors because I love the work. I believe in creating a space that’s honest, rigorous, and artist-centered. My job is to help you sharpen your instincts, build confidence in your choices, and unlock the clarity and freedom you need to tell compelling stories—whether you’re prepping for a callback, working on new material, trying to build a set of tools you can use regularly or rediscovering the joy of your craft. Sessions are tailored to your needs, offered online or in person, and always grounded in mutual respect and shared curiosity. If you’re looking for a coach who understands both the industry and the artistry—I’d love to work together.
**Can play piano for sessions if music is required**

I'm a process oriented artist and teacher. What that means is that I'm less interested in "getting it right" once and instead making sure you have an idea of how to approach your work in any scenario.
Depending on the material, we may focus on:
Script analysis
Emotional availability
Personalization
Action work
Moment Before
Emotional preps
Beginning, middle and ends
There's no one-size-fits-all and so I'm curious as to how we unlock your curiosity about your own process.
**I play piano and am able to help MT performers with cuts as well as accompany our working sessions**

Perfect! Not only is Joshua an incredibly intuitive coach, he has the training and experience to back it up. IMO, you can *only* gain from a session with him. Genuinely impactful.
- Open and curious! Willing to think outside the box. Would love to see Farrell continue to think on not watching herself.Joshua's response :

Joshua has directed me in several plays. He is an actor's director with a love of actors and acting and an attention to detail - making sure that the moments in a scene get fully explored and fleshed out.
He is a joy to work with and brings both years of professional experience on Broadway and regional stages as well as in TV and Film and knows how to coach actors to bring out their best work and find the truth in the moment.
I recommend him wholeheartedly. If you are looking to grow as an actor, he is the teacher for you.Joshua really helped me grow and evolve in this profession.
Joshua is not only a phenomenal actor but he’s a phenomenal teacher. He cares deeply about his students whether it is teaching them acting or the business of show. Although his work is raw and unique as an actor, his years as an artistic director and director provide a steady hand and a keen eye that makes one feel safe to take risks and to take up space. His notes and feedback elevate one’s choices to a high professional standard while maintaining the actor’s distinct POV and take on the material. He’s an actor’s teacher first and foremost
Joshua is excellent at giving feedback in a way that is empowering and not discouraging. He has a great attention to detail, and is genuinely interested in getting the best out of anyone he works with. I couldn’t recommend Joshua enough!
