About Jasmine
I’m a British-born language tutor with a degree in Modern Foreign Languages (Portuguese and Spanish). I speak Portuguese fluently and live most of the year in Rio de Janeiro with my partner, who is Brazilian. My immersion in Brazilian daily life gives me a deep, authentic understanding of the language as it's actually spoken — something I bring into every lesson. I believe that a genuine love for the culture is key to gaining fluency and confidence in speaking. That’s why my lessons go beyond grammar and vocabulary — I incorporate Brazilian literature, music, university-level texts, and everyday expressions to make learning both effective and inspiring. I teach all levels, from beginners to advanced learners, and adapt each lesson to your needs and goals. I provide regular homework, conversational practice, and cultural context to help you progress with confidence. I offer engaging, high-quality Portuguese lessons that combine academic depth with cultural immersion. Using university-level materials, literature, music, and authentic Brazilian media, I help learners develop fluency while exploring the richness of the language. Lessons are 60 minutes, tailored to your goals and level (beginner to advanced), and include regular homework to reinforce learning. My approach is conversation-focused but supported by structured grammar and vocabulary. I hold a degree in Modern Foreign Languages (Portuguese and Spanish) and have lived in Brazil extensively, giving me a deep understanding of both language and culture.
