About Bella

I am a Politics and Philosophy student at the University of Bristol, and I’ve been tutoring for two years. My students have seen great results, and I enjoy helping them feel understood and capable along the way, as well as getting the grades they want.
I achieved A*, A*, A and B at A level in English Literature, Art, Psychology and an EPQ, where I scored 48/50, plus grades 7-9 in all my GCSEs. I know what it takes to do well, and I’m happy to share what worked for me.
I started tutoring because tutors made a real difference to me when I was studying for these exams. Having someone who had recently been through the same courses and exams was so helpful, because they knew exactly what it felt like and what actually worked. I want to give my students that same support.
If you’d like a tutor who is patient, well prepared and focused on helping you improve, I’d love to work with you!

About the lesson

I teach English Literature (GCSE and A level), English Language (GCSE) and Psychology (A level) online, to students aged around 14 to 18. Lessons are usually one hour, and I can do 1.5 hours if more time is needed, for example before exams.
Everyone learns differently, so I work out what suits each student and build the lessons around that. In practice, that usually means going through the content in clear steps, then practising it through exam-style questions, planning answers together and giving feedback on written work. My aim is for students to understand their subject and to feel more confident in it.
I know how daunting exams can feel, and I’m familiar with the exam boards I teach. As well as teaching content, I help students learn how to write strong answers, manage their time and use the mark scheme properly, so they get the most out of what they know.
