About Michael
With a First-Class Degree in Live Sound from University of St Mark & St John and over 10 years lecturing in music production and songwriting, I’ve helped hundreds of students discover their musical voice. I run my own professional studio, Rose Records, where I produce, record, and guide artists in creating polished, release-ready tracks.
I play guitar, bass, piano, and sing at a high level, and I bring all this experience into my teaching — from songwriting and arranging to recording, mixing, and mastering in Logic Pro X. I know how to break down complex production techniques into simple, actionable steps, helping beginners and aspiring artists feel confident and inspired.
I’ve worked with shy learners, beginners, and neurodivergent students, creating lessons that are flexible, encouraging, and tailored to each individual. My goal is always to help you bring your ideas to life, develop your own style, and gain real-world skills you can use in your music today.

I came to Michael as a complete beginner, wanting to learn Logic Pro X and figure out how to record my own guitar tracks. From the very first lesson, he made everything feel achievable. He breaks down complex techniques into simple steps, is patient, encouraging, and genuinely cares about helping you develop your own sound. Thanks to him, I can now record, mix, and even finish songs I never thought I’d be able to. I can’t recommend his lessons highly enough!
