About Isaac
Hi, my name is Isaac I am an experienced and passionate mentor with an extensive background in game programming, software development, and IT support. My teaching journey began as a PASS Tutor, where I successfully guided first-year Games Programming students by simplifying complex programming concepts, fostering independent learning, and creating a positive, collaborative learning environment. My adaptable teaching style ensures that I meet each student's unique needs, making learning engaging and effective. With years of hands-on experience, I bring practical expertise in cutting-edge technologies such as Unity, Unreal Engine, C++, C#, SQL, and React. I’ve developed impactful projects like a fire safety training simulation, which increased user readiness by 37.5%, demonstrating my ability to apply academic concepts to real-world solutions. I take pride in empowering students by sharing valuable insights and strategies for tackling practical challenges. Beyond technical knowledge, I possess strong leadership and organisational skills, combined with a deep passion for helping others. I can also assist you with writing impactful essays, addressing job-related challenges, preparing for interviews, enhancing your resume, or crafting an impressive portfolio that showcases your talents. Whether you're aiming to improve your coding skills, enhance your game development expertise, achieve academic success, or prepare for your career, I am here to guide and support you every step of the way. Fluent in both English and Portuguese, I work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds. Let’s work together to take your skills to the next level and achieve your goals!

Personalised Learning Experience: Every lesson is tailored to your specific skills, goals, and areas for improvement. I ensure that the learning pace and activities reflect your unique needs and evolving abilities. Focus on Real-World Applications: In my lessons, I connect theory with practical, real-world scenarios. For example, I'll guide you through projects like building a game mechanic in Unity or exploring how programming concepts solve real challenges, such as those in the fire safety training simulation I developed. Simplifying Complex Topics: I break down technical concepts into easy-to-understand parts, using practical examples, visual aids, and real-world analogies. No matter how challenging a topic may seem, we’ll work together to make it understandable and manageable. Hands-On, Interactive Approach: My lessons are highly interactive, with live coding sessions where we solve problems together. Whether it’s building small-scale games in Unreal Engine or troubleshooting code, you’ll always be engaged in the process. Progressive Problem-Solving: We’ll work through challenges step-by-step. I’ll guide you initially, and as your confidence grows, you’ll take the reins, fostering both independence and critical problem-solving skills. Dynamic and Adaptive Style: My teaching is flexible to suit your preferred learning style—visual, auditory, or hands-on. Each lesson adapts as we go, ensuring sustained engagement and clear understanding. Practical Projects and Exercises: I’ll provide exercises and mini-projects that align with your goals, such as designing game features, troubleshooting database systems, or applying software development methodologies. These exercises not only reinforce learning but also provide portfolio-worthy work. Soft Skills Integration: Beyond technical knowledge, I help you develop critical soft skills, like effective communication, teamwork, and time management, which are essential for both academic and professional success. Guidance for Essays & Career Growth: Whether you need help with writing impactful essays, preparing for job interviews, or creating a professional-grade resume or portfolio, my lessons include personalised guidance to help you achieve your goals. Inclusive and Supportive Environment: Being fluent in English and Portuguese, I create a supportive environment for students from diverse backgrounds, encouraging open discussions and collaboration. Celebrating Your Progress: At the end of every lesson, we’ll review what you’ve achieved and map out next steps, leaving you motivated and prepared for continued success.
