About Natalie
I am currently a student at the University of Aberdeen majoring in Civil and Environmental Engineering. I moved to Aberdeen in August all the way from sunny California. While living in California, I tutored mathematics for almost two years at a well known company called Mathnasium. While working at Mathnasium, I also started my own tutoring business called "Break it Down Tutoring," which got its name from a saying my Algebra two/ Trig Accelerated teacher told the class. By breaking the maths problem down, you are looking at the chunks of the problem separately, therefore making it look much easier and less scary. This can also apply to other subjects like English. I have tutored over 100 students while working at Mathnasium and on my own, I tutored about 20 or more students. My students range in age from as young as five years old to even 60 years old. While maths may be my main subject, I also tutor social science, science, english, and any other that the student may need help on. I also tutored students with disabilities as well, like Aspergers and dyslexia.

Ever since I was a young girl, I knew maths and science were my favourite subjects in school. I always loved to solve puzzles and I knew maths was just one huge puzzle where each piece connected to the next. As the years in school passed, I knew that maths would get harder and the teachers would soon be unable to help every single student out. It would get harder to explain and not everyone would understand the concepts right away. So, today I use that to my benefit. Since every person learns differently, I adjust my "learning plan" to fit the needs of the student I am tutoring.

Natalie has extreme patience and is willing to re-explain concepts over and over again until it truly makes sense. Not only is she gifted in math but she's also such a sweet person and understands not everyone has a knack for mathematics, but she is willing to do whatever it takes to help you pass your class.
