About Flavinho
I came to the USA at the age of 17 just in time to finish high school at Northwest High School, I have been fluent in speaking and understanding English since I was 12, and since then I have only honed my skills, I am self-taught and have my own method of teaching language that I believe to be the most effective for people who don't usually enjoy studying, but don't think this means you will have an easy time with me, I am going the extra mile to be sure that you will do your work diligently.

I'm Flavio, 18, fluent in both English and Portuguese, and I know exactly what makes the Portuguese accent and Portuguese-influenced grammar mistakes happen, due to me growing up navigating both languages myself.
I focus on the stuff that actually changes how you sound and how confident you feel speaking and reading English:
Reducing Portuguese accent: pronunciation, rhythm, and the specific sounds Portuguese speakers tend to struggle with
Reading comprehension and literacy: building real understanding, not just decoding words
Grammar fundamentals: the rules that actually matter for everyday speaking and writing
Practical reading practice: texts that build vocabulary and confidence at the same time
I'm not a classroom teacher reciting a textbook, I tutor the way I'd want to be taught: patient, clear, and focused on what's actually tripping you up, not generic lessons. Because I'm a native Portuguese speaker myself, I can explain why something feels hard in a way that clicks faster than most English-only tutors can.
Lessons are flexible and I'm responsive, happy to do a trial lesson so you can see if it's a good fit before committing.
