Hello! I’m Ezra, your new tutor.
I’m a professional and patient teacher who loves helping primary school kids understand their schoolwork and feel confident in class. I have experience working with children from Grade 1 to Grade 7, and I specialize in making math, English, and homework easy to understand through games, drawings, and step-by-step practice.I am qualified with a National Senior Certificate and I’m skilled in English and Afrikaans, so I can explain things in the way that makes the most sense to you. My lessons are always prepared, on time, and focused on your progress. My approach to private tutoring for primary school
I teach primary kids by making learning feel like play, not pressure. We use stories, games, drawings, and real-life examples so math, English, or homework stops feeling scary. My goal is for your child to leave each lesson saying “that was fun” and “I can do it”. I’m patient and I never rush. If a child needs 10 minutes on one sum, we take 10 minutes.What makes my methodology unique
I use a “see it, say it, do it” method. First your child sees the concept with pictures or objects. Then they explain it back to me in their own words. Then we do it together with fun practice. I give lots of praise for effort, not just correct answers, so confidence grows. I also teach parents one quick tip at the end so you can help at home without fights over homework.Languages I teach in
I am proficient and can teach fluently in English. I can also explain things in Afrikaans if your child understands better that way. For younger kids I mix languages to make sure they don’t get stuck on big words.What to expect from a typical lesson
A 45-60 minute lesson starts with a quick game or warm-up question to get your child relaxed. Then we tackle 1 homework problem or school topic together using blocks, drawings, or flashcards. Your child does most of the work while I guide. We end with a small reward sticker and 2-3 easy practice questions to build confidence before the next class. Parents get a short WhatsApp update after each lesson so you know what we covered.Who my lessons are aimed at
My lessons are aimed at Foundation and Intermediate Phase learners from Grade 1 to Grade 7. Perfect for kids who fall behind in reading, struggle with math basics, have ADHD/short attention span, or just need one-on-one help because class is too fast. I also help with homework and test prep. If your child learns better with movement, pictures, or stories instead of worksheets, they’ll love my classes.Subjects I cover: [ English, Afrikaans, Reading, Homework help?]Location: Online for Gr 4-7, or in-person around Cape Town for Gr 1-3
