About Jayla
Hi! My name is Ms. Vaughn, and I’m a passionate tutor with 2 years of experience helping children strengthen their reading and spelling skills. I specialize in working with early learners and struggling readers, using engaging, personalized lessons that build confidence and a love for learning. I take a patient, encouraging approach and tailor each session to meet the unique needs of the student. Whether we’re working on phonics, sight words, spelling rules, or reading comprehension, my goal is to make every session fun, supportive, and effective. Watching students grow from frustration to fluency is the most rewarding part of what I do. As a reading and spelling tutor, I focus on helping students build strong foundational literacy skills. I teach:
Phonemic awareness – recognizing and working with sounds in spoken words
