About Layne
I am a board-certified music therapist (MT-BC) who graduated with a music degree from Eastern Michigan University in 2016. There, I learned how music affects the brain in incredible ways. Leveraging that knowledge and my experience working with a variety of clientele, I now specialize in teaching students with specific learning needs and goals.
I have taught over 100 students in the past 5 years working at a professional music learning studio and am now offering private lessons at home. I am excited to continue working with various types of students, ranging from neurodivergent toddlers to typically learning adults.

About the lesson

My lessons are flexible, fun, and suited to my students' learning styles, development ability, and goals for learning. We'll use a variety of material including the music students want to play.
In 30 minutes, we'll spend time working on proper technique, understanding theory, incorporating ear training and sightreading. Using games, challenges and incentives, music learning is fun even for the early beginner.
