About Luke

My name is Luke. I've been playing the piano for over ten years and graduated from WITS University with my BMus Honours. I majored in composition but have experience in a wide range of skills including jazz piano, orchestration, music production amongst many.

My passion lies in helping learners to grow, not only in terms of their musical abilities, but also with regards to life skills gained when overcoming the struggle of learning a new instrument and grasping the theoretical aspects involved. I believe that music offers a unique opportunity to teach discipline and a sense of achievement, both of which in my view, will stay with the student for the rest of their life.

About the lesson

I love teaching music theory. There is always something new to learn in the world of music and constant progress to be made.

What you'll learn:
-General Music Theory
-Jazz Music Theory
-Theory and analysis of Music

My lessons are aimed at all ages and no previous experience is required.

Luke is patient, and kind and communicates really well with his students. He also works at the student’s pace and doesn’t rush them. I highly recommend him because he knows his stuff and is sociable.
