About Gabriella
Hello! I’m Gabriella. I completed my Bachelor in Music at the University of Pretoria at the end of 2024, graduating with distinction. I specialised in classical voice methodology, performance in classical singing, and music psychology. In my third year, I decided, with guidance from my lecturers, to divide my fourth year into two years of study to allow my singing voice to develop further before doing a recital. While working towards my recital in 2024, I completed a research proposal surrounding the topic of deliberate practice for the field of music psychology. I hope to complete a Master's in Music Psychology sometime in the future. In the meantime, I hope to gain experience in teaching music and classical singing, applying and sharing my knowledge and instilling a love for music, singing, and practising in my students.

In these lessons, you will have the opportunity to learn about classical singing pedagogy practically.
- You can learn how to use the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) for singing in Italian, German, and/or French.
- You can learn about the anatomy and physiology of singing, how this gives us an understanding of classical singing techniques (such as posture and breathing), and how to use your singing voice optimally.
- You can learn how to navigate teaching the different age groups, according to vocal maturity.
- You can learn how to study a vocal piece of music effectively and efficiently.
- Further, you can learn about deliberate practice for singing and how to apply and teach these practice techniques to your students.
- Whatever you are curious to learn about in the above-mentioned, the choice is up to you!
My teaching methodology will adapt according to your learning style. Generally, I try to be versatile with the methods I use, combining visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning styles into one lesson. These lessons aim to teach you how to apply book knowledge of these topics.
Having experience in classical singing pedagogy and music psychology, I hope to encourage aspiring and current singing teachers and young singers to continue developing their skills. There is always something new to learn every day, and there is always room for growth.

Gabriella is really passionate about what she does, musicology is something that she is extremely knowledgeable with regards to theory, technique and is extremely talented at singing herself.
