About Jack
I am a Biomedical Sciences graduate who loves maths! I know Maths can be tricky and through my tutoring I will teach you how to navigate those difficult aspects of the subject. I have taught Maths to primary school students before and I know how uninspiring the subject can be to those who are struggling but with my help I assure you we can make maths a subject that you love!

I have a laid back but assertive approach when it comes to tutoring. I was once a student not too long ago and so I know how students react to various teaching styles and I have found that being relaxed when teaching often engages the student more than having a cross demeanor.
My lessons would be approximately 45-60 minutes long. Upon first meeting a student, I would give them a baseline test with multiple questions covering a large breadth of topics found at the primary school level. I will then mark this and assess the strengths and weaknesses the student has in topic areas and then create a plan to cover these weaknesses over the course of the time we have together.
Each lesson would begin with a starter warm up activity that would take 5-10 minutes. I would then have 2 main activities focussing on one particular topic for the session e.g. long division. Then I will add a summary activity to finish the session off to really bring together what we have learnt in that session. I also will have a plenary form so the student themselves can tell me what they have learnt today and what hints and tips they found useful.
I have worked for non-profit charity Action Tutoring teaching 2 disadvantaged primary school pupils Maths over the course of 6 months online.
My lessons are aimed at primary school children who are preparing for their SATS (Year 5 and above).
