About Imogen
I'm Imogen, nice to meet you! I am a Biomedical Science grad with a passion for the life sciences. My tutoring style is all about tailored sessions, real-world examples, and a no-judgement zone for questions. Whether you're tackling GCSE or A-level chemistry, I'm here to make the journey enjoyable and effective. Lessons usually run 1-2 hours, depending on what you prefer. Tutoring is not just about transferring knowledge; it's about building confidence and making learning an enjoyable experience. I am committed to tailored sessions, a friendly atmosphere, and a no-judgement approach. Some subjects can be hard to wrap your head around! My goal is to create a space where you feel inspired, confident, and ready to embrace learning.
A lot of my students are prospective medical applicants and I tutor them for not just science, but also the UCAT, strategic applications, and interview preparation. If you are planning on applying to medical or dental school then send me a message and we will get you there! I have applied for graduate medicine two years in a row and this year I am happy to say I have accepted a place to study graduate medicine at Cambridge university in autumn 2025.

My approach is rooted in the belief that there are no silly questions. I tailor lessons to each student's unique learning style, making sure concepts are understood no matter how many times we have to go over it. I employ a variety of techniques, such as real-world examples, interactive discussions, and problem-solving exercises, to make lessons engaging and relevant. A big part of my teaching is visual and involves drawing diagrams etc - if this is in person it will involve whiteboards or paper, if it is online I will be sharing my screen as I have a laptop with a pen!

Imogen has been the most wonderful tutor for me throughout year 1 of uni when I had to battle with statistics and maths; I have never found maths easy. I have found that lecturers often go too fast in class and that I miss concepts entirely and need a more visual approach. Imogen is patient and takes all the time needed to allow me to understand. She will try a variety of approaches including diagrams (visual techniques) and comparisons to real life situations to enable me to picture the process that can get me to the solution. As maths is not the most visual of subjects, this technique has enabled me to grasp concepts I never thought I was capable of. As a result, I was so happy to receive a first in my statistics module and close to a first in my maths module at Uni (something I never thought I could get at the beginning).

Details
When booked through Superprof sessions are £33/hr. However, due to the platform fees Superprof deducts from this, I am happy to go off-platform where sessions are £30/hr. This can be by bank transfer or Paypal!

I’m currently fully booked for weekday after-school sessions. However, I do still have some availability for online tuition during weekdays between 9 am - 4 pm. For weekend sessions, I have availability for online sessions throughout the day, please message to inquire.
