About Amanda
Education, especially on a collegiate level has taught me so much about myself. The material itself has been challenging but what has helped me get through and do well is understanding time management and how I learn best. I had to pay my own way through my education, teach myself a lot of things in and out of the classroom, network, ask for help and guidance from mentors, and work hard to get where I am. I'm here to help you as a student navigate it all!

As much as I love working in cutting-edge biomedical research, my real passion is teaching! I have taught ESL to adolescents, tutored high school and college level biology, and mentored many undergraduate students in a laboratory setting. I like to start by getting to know the student, discussing the ways they learn best, and setting up a game plan for our future sessions! During a course (yearly for high school students and semester-based for college students) we will meet at least once a week. If needed for more than that, I am very flexible. My goal is to help you as a student not just get a good grade, but also find out how you learn best and more about yourself as a student and a person. As mentioned I primarily work with high school students (Biology/AP Biology) and college students (Biology 1 and 2, Molecular and/or Cellular Biology, Genetics, Genomics). I also aid college students in best practices to get their foot in the door with biomedical research work/internships and graduate-level education. If cost is an issue, please feel free to reach out so we can work something out. Education can be expensive and I want to aid in making it as accessible as possible.
