About Maria
Hi, I’m Maria, a tutor with over three years of experience helping students achieve their academic goals. I hold a First-Class Degree in Biomedicine and now work professionally in science communication, where I break down complex topics into accessible ideas for a wide audience, a skill I bring directly into my tutoring. My background also includes working as a youth worker, giving me valuable insight into how to engage and support young people from a range of backgrounds and learning needs. I tailor my teaching approach to each student’s individual learning style and preferences, ensuring sessions are interactive, accessible, and genuinely helpful. Whether you're aiming to master core concepts or boost exam performance, I’ll help you build confidence and retain knowledge in a way that works for you. My teaching methodology is about fully engaging with the topic through interactive activities, active recall tasks and specialising the curriculum and the goals of the sessions specifically to the individuals students needs. I emphasise the importance of learning how to study and helping the student develop effective techniques that will be useful not just now but in the future as well. Each session typically lasts 1 hour and is structured to balance content review, skill-building, and practice. I hold a First-Class Degree in Biomedicine and have over three years of tutoring experience, including working with neurodivergent young people. My students benefit from a supportive, flexible teaching style that recognises and adapts to their unique needs. I offer lessons for students at GCSE, A-Level, and below, helping learners of all abilities reach their academic goals.
